Beginning the week of September 30th, Hillsborough County will start automated residential garbage and recycling\u00a0collection. \u00a0Each home has been assigned a\u00a0gray 95-gallon roll cart for garbage and a blue 65-gallon roll cart for recyclables.<\/p>\n
Residents are encouraged to \u201ctest drive\u201d the new roll carts until January 15, 2014. This period will cover the holiday season, a time of year when larger amounts of garbage and recyclables are generated and more capacity generally is needed. At the conclusion of the \u201ctest drive,\u201d if a resident wants to exchange a roll cart, a one-time size change at no charge can be arranged by contacting your Franchise Collector from January 15 \u2013 March 15, 2014. Roll cart size changes after the January 15- March 15 \u201cswap out\u201d period will incur a $30 charge each.<\/p>\n
