Cart Size Choice <\/b>
\nResidents are encouraged to \u201ctest drive\u201d the new roll carts until January 15, 2014. This period will cover the holiday season, a time of year when larger amounts of garbage and recyclables are generated and more capacity generally is needed. At the conclusion of the \u201ctest drive,\u201d if a resident wants to exchange a roll cart, a one-time size change at no charge can be arranged by contacting your Franchise Collector from January 15, 2014\u00a0\u2013 March 15, 2014. Roll cart size changes after the January 15, 2014\u00a0– March 15, 2014\u00a0\u201cswap out\u201d period will incur a $30 charge each.<\/p>\n
What To Do With Old Trash Cans<\/b>
\nResidents are encouraged to keep their old trash cans for yard waste, or other household purposes. Unwanted cans can be placed curbside for collection the week of September 23 with a note directing your service provider to take the cans. After the new automated program starts the week of September 30, old trash cans can be placed in your GRAY roll cart for disposal, or taken to a Community Collection Center.<\/p>\n
Expanded Recycling Program<\/b>
\nNo more sorting of recyclables – all recyclables will go into\u00a0the recycling\u00a0cart. The cart will replace the green and blue bins which customers currently use. Also, more kinds of plastics will be accepted.<\/p>\n
