Beginning the week of September 30th, Hillsborough County will start automated residential garbage and recycling collection.  Each home has been assigned a gray 95-gallon roll cart for garbage and a blue 65-gallon roll cart for recyclables.

Residents are encouraged to “test drive” the new roll carts until January 15, 2014. This period will cover the holiday season, a time of year when larger amounts of garbage and recyclables are generated and more capacity generally is needed. At the conclusion of the “test drive,” if a resident wants to exchange a roll cart, a one-time size change at no charge can be arranged by contacting your Franchise Collector from January 15 – March 15, 2014. Roll cart size changes after the January 15- March 15 “swap out” period will incur a $30 charge each.
